This experiential anatomy workshop will:
Teach basic musculoskeletal anatomy of the body’s upper Base (knees, thighs, hips)
Explore the anatomy that works to move the moves of the Base
Practice and learn the steps and kicks of Nia’s Base moves
Share “Finger first-aid" and other self-care ideas and inspiration to take home
Help you become pleasure and body literate

10:30 a.m. Welcome, Focus and Intention
10:35 a.m. – 11:20 a.m. Nia Class: Knees and Hips, Steps and Stances
11:25 a.m. – 12:05 p.m. Anatomy of the Base Part II: Knees, Hips, Thighs
12:05 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. Self Care and Finger First Aid for the Base
Together we will examine and experience details of our musculoskeletal anatomy and care through touch, movement, anatomy, and writing that will help deepen your awareness of how you move. This workshop will allow you to take a multidimensional approach to becoming pleasure and body literate, keystone concepts of Nia aimed at creating sustainability in your body. This is a great workshop for both new-to-Nia students, long time veteran movers, yogis, and teachers.
