Autumn Som∂lchemy Movement Weekend

Autumn Som∂lchemy Movement Weekend

We plan our weekend around moving, grooving and grub with plenty of freedom to move at your own pace – choosing what feels right for you. This presents an opportunity to connect to your natural rhythms by integrating with the world around us via the senses, expression and creativity. This gathering is an occasion for movement and stillness, exploration and connection. Riffing off our theme last year – "the sweetness of doing nothing" – you can, once again, give yourself this rest and prepare for the coming winter, the slowing down. In a world which celebrates and rewards production and consumption use this time to 'do nothing', it's sweet and rebellious! Rest and play are necessary, nourishing components in our lives.

Learn more about the retreat center that hosts us, Vista Verde Retreat Center (in Carson, NM west of Taos) and prepare for a great weekend of community with dancing, eating, exploring and contemplating.

One of the great views from Vista Verde towards Taos, NM.

About Vista Verde

Vista Verde Retreat sits on 40 acres of land on the west edge of the Taos Gorge surrounded by juniper and piñon trees. There is a beautiful sprung wood dance floor for our movement classes and lots of space to be outdoors, with two hiking trails looping through the natural surroundings, a ceremonial sand circle, an outdoor fire pit and labyrinth. With no television or cell service you can’t help but disconnect and plug into natural time (though, if absolutely necessary a landline and WiFi are available). Nearby, there are a variety of unique day trips and activities: from Taos gallery touring and the Taos Pueblo to viewing the Rio Grande Gorge or the Earthship Biotecture. A short 25 minute drive takes you to the famous Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs where you can soak in the healing mineral waters of northern New Mexico. Hiking and walking trails abound.
